The first 7km of this walk will follow the same route as the start of the A walk.
Taking us through the beautiful village of Clogheen, passing the historic Shanrahan cemetery before we enter the woods as we meander our way through forest paths laden with evergreen rhododendron plants with the sounds of gushing mountain streams below as we ascend up the valley to give stunning views across the entire Galty Vee Valley.
The route goes along a sandstone path with panoramic views of the full range of mountains on display, the Ballyhouras, Galtees, Devils Bit, Slievenamon, Comeraghs and Knockmealdowns before departing from the A route after 7km.
The route then descends into the woods to pick up the Clogheen Loop walking trail and subsequently the Blackwater Way/East Munster Way back to Clogheen.
