Description
Check in and park Fr. Sheehys GAA Park. This trail takes in the lowlands of the Knockmealdowns as it wanders through a remote forest, crossing pretty mountain streams, onto an open mountain section under the renowned beauty spot The Vee, before picking up a forest trail bringing it back into Clogheen, one of the major junctions in Ireland on the National Way Marked Trails.
This trail is relatively flat as it utilises the Tipperary Heritage Way before turning onto the East Munster Way and then also picks up the Blackwater Way with swathes of Rhododendrons along the way.
This walk is ideal for those with little trail walking experience.
Check out at Clogheen Community Hall with finger food afterwards while being entertained with music on stage.
See https://www.vee.ie/routes-2022/ for the routes, maps and trail descriptions for all walks.
