This 13km loop the loop walk will unveil fabulous views across the entire Galty Vee Valley with the Ballyhouras, Galtees, Comeraghs and Slievenamon in clear view and Keeper Hill and the Devil’s Bit peaking out a little further away providing a breathtaking view of mountains towering above the forty shades of green below in the fertile valley.
After checking at Clogheen Community Centre, you will be bussed to the starting point. The trail starts off taking in part of the alternative Blackwater Way National Waymarked Trail as well as some of the Clogheen Loop trail, passes over the river Duag as well as passing the historic Shanrahan cemetery.
The trail winds its way through forest tracks and trails with a gradual ascent to give mesmerising views of the stunning Galty Vee Valley before descending to enormous swathes of rhodendrons in full bloom, an extraordinary spectacle.
This walk is ideal for those with moderate to good trail walking experience and a good level of fitness.
After checking back in at Clogheen Community Hall, you will enjoy a hot meal while being entertained with live music on stage.
