Knockshanahullion Solstice Walks 2019
Both 2019 Solstice Walks are Sold Out
The Rhododendron Walking Festival committee held the inaugural winter solstice walk in 2018. It sold out quickly. This has also been the case with both days in 2019, which both sold out in days.
The summit of Knockshanahullion is 652m. The ascent for the walk is 199m. On top of Knockshanahullion a Bronze Age Mound is present with views to the Galtee, Slievenamon mountains in the distance, and the Suir and Blackwater Valleys below.
Check In: 6:30-7am; Buses Depart 7:15am; Walking 7:35am.
Approx bus return time 9:15am to be in Clogheen Hall 9:35 am.
There is music and refreshments in Clogheen Community Hall on return.
